Poly Noir

POLY NOIR is the new dark country/noir western project of guitarist and vocalist Poly from the crossover-metal staple INSANIA. The first compositions were already created in 2018, and Poly admits to the influence of dark Mohicans such as Ennio Morricone, Johnny Cash, Nick Cave, Mark Lanegan or the "poet of doom" Cormac McCarthy. In November 2024, the album "K mýmu ohni nesedej" (Smile Music rec.) will be released, which will be launched at the end of 2024 in Brno at the Cabinet of Muses and in Prague at the Cross club. For the purposes of live performance, the band THE HOLY SPIRIT SMUGGLERS was formed, whose members are Poly (vocals, guitar), Tom Šlápota (bass guitar), Jan Fic (guitar), David Horák (drums). Tom Šlápota plays in the band Dark Gamballe. As an author and producer, he participated, for example, on the soundtracks for Vietcong 1, 2, Mafia 2 and a long line of other award-winning projects. Jan Fic is a respected blues guitarist, songwriter and maker of Red Bird Instruments guitars, original custom instruments with a story. David Horák is an experienced drummer and violinist, best known for his work as a drummer in the bands Deloraine and Tezaura and as a sound engineer in the Melodka club in Brno. With the songs that stumble resignedly along the dusty road between abandoned barracks, decayed torments of God, between "grabbers and bums who urinate in your footsteps", the typical Insania sarcasm flashes here and there, but mostly a note of melancholy and reconciliation with the fact that the road to eternity prevails it is made of dust and ashes.
